Dr. Nancy L. Hesters, DVM
Dr. Nancy Hesters, or "Dr. Nancy" as known by her clients, has been practicing veterinary medicine for
14 years. She has a Masters of Business Administration from Golden Gate University and a Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine from North Carolina State University. All of her veterinary experience has been in the clinical
setting. After establishing herself as a seasoned relief veterinarian throughout the Triad area, she built and
opened Phoenix Animal Hospital in May 2009. The practice has flourished and "Dr. Nancy" is most appreciative for
the response and support she has received from the community and her clients.
Originally from Ohio, "Dr. Nancy" has been in North Carolina since 1984 where she served as an airborne qualified U.S. Army Officer. She is married to Allan who helps with the non-medical aspects of the practice. Her hobbies include golf, reading and working out. She has participated in two veterinary mission trips to Honduras.
Kylee George
Kylee George, from Elon, NC, is the lead technician for the hospital. With 8 years of experience, she is
critical to the smooth operation of the hospital whether it be during Intake, Surgery Prep, or Lab workups. She has an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences for Animal Care and Management Technologies. Kylee is
married and has two wonderful children.
Susan Fowler
Susan Fowler, grew up in Alamance County and is our "safety net" in the hospital. With 23 years of experience,
Susan floats as needed in reception, treatment or kennels. Her love for animals is evident
in how she cares for her Golden Retriever "Jax" and Dachshunds "Muffinator" and "SadieMaeMae".
Julie Scott
Juie Scott, from Liberty, NC is the face of Phoenix Animal Hospital. As receptionist and veterinary assistant,
Julie is most often the first one a client sees when walking in and the last on the way out. Her personality and
attention to detail have been keys in the success of the hospital. Julie has an Associate Degree in Medical Secretarial
Program and has formally completed a Veterinary Assistant Program. Julie is married, and has two dogs and two donkeys on
her farm.
